Bird Box 2009 and PuffinCam
May/
2009

The SEGfL Bird box project is expanding for 2009. The successful broadcasting from nesting sites by more than 20 schools last season and encouragement from colleagues throughout the British Isles via the National Education Network (NEN) has allowed the project to expand. Under the banner of SEGfL - NatureCam the project is providing schools with an opportunity to share video and data streams collected from nesting boxes fitted with video cameras and other data gathering equipment. But opportunities will extend to include wildlife cameras and datagathering throughout the year. Schools will be able to view nest box activity and share in interactive events.
If you are in the British Isles and considering purchasing a nest box with camera, then early Spring is the time to get connected. Birds start exploring suitable nesting boxes before the end of winter.
Visit the 2009 birdbox website to view recommended equipment and SEGfL contact addresses for help and advice.
