How can using the Internet improve children’s writing?

Two girls using VOIP (Skype) to interview Santa

Seven Ashford primary schools took part in the recent "On-Line" writing activity, "Save our Santa." Planned and led by the Cluster "Hands on Support Team", the activity was designed to evaluate how effectively ICT can be used to improve children's writing. Focusing in particular, on the needs of boys in Upper Key Stage 2, the children used audio conferencing and the Internet to search and acquire information and the "On-Line" newspaper "Making the News" to publish their written reports.
