Radwaste

If the Romans had used nuclear power, we would still be guarding their waste today!
The London Grid for Learning launches Radwaste - This is a full and comprehensive resource for the DME (Decision Making Exercise) compulsory paper on GCSE Geography around the topic of 'What should we do with radioactive waste?'.
The focus of the LGfL 'RADwaste' Project is not to investigate the issue of whether new nuclear power stations should be built in the UK - although teachers may wish to pursue this question with students.
RADwaste is a full and comprehensive resource for the DME (Decision Making Exercise) compulsory paper on GCSE Geography around the topic of 'What should we do with radioactive waste?'.
The mock DME paper in Radwaste is compatible with all examination boards. Radwaste includes lesson plans, downloadable resources, a host of video clips (C4 News, interviews with CORWM officials) as well as videos of teachers and students talking about their experiences using the resource.
All of the resources have been designed in collaboration with a Behaviour for Learning advisor, and Radwaste includes additional materials to support those unfamiliar with this approach (NQTs etc.)
In all the LGfL pilot schools piloting Radwaste, the activity has coincided with (had a significant impact on?) substantially improved recruitment levels for both GCSE and AS Geography.
